Cho Ui-Seok (b. 1976) studied directing at the Korean National University of Arts. After his graduation short Fanta Tropical (1999), he directed his feature debut Make It Big.  His sophomore feature The World of Silence received a muted response, but with Cold Eyes, he finally achieved both critical and commerical success,selling over 5.5 million tickets.

Kim Byung-Seo is best known as a cinematographer, having worked on numerous shorts and over a dozen feature films (2003), The Aggressives (2006), Castaway On the Moon (2009), A Good Rain Knows (2009) and Dangerous Liaisons (2012).   But he also has credits as editor and screenwriter.  After a short film Faces Places (2010), he realized his longstanding ambition directing a feature with Cold Eyes.
