83-year-old Kenneth Tsang Kong is one of the most respected actors in Hong Kong. He’s appeared in over 217 movies with regular roles in major films since the 1960s. Tsang starred in detective films and classic kung fu movies with Hong Kong teen idols Connie Chan Po-chu and Josephine Siao. Tsang also appeared in a few Wong Fei-hung movies in the late 1960s. While mostly active in Hong Kong film productions, Tsang worked in Singaporean TV Chinese dramas during the 1990s, notably the 1995 epic The Teochew Family and The Unbeatables II in 1996. In the 80’s he participated in John Woo’s A Better Tomorrow trilogy and The Killer. Tsang made his Hollywood debut with Chow Yun Fat in The Replacement Killers. He also appeared in Rush Hour 2, Die Another Day, Memoirs of a Geisha, Anna and the King, and Stan Lee’s Lucky Man British crime drama television series produced by Carnival Films and POW! Entertainment. Tsang won the best Supporting Actor Award at the 2014 Hong Kong Film Awards for Overheard 3, co-directed by Alex Ma and Felix Chong.
The Attorney is a 2019 movie about politics and the law, money and murder all compellingly intertwined in this taut mystery/courtroom drama. The Attorney, a legal thriller rarely seen in Hong Kong cinema offers a pointed look at what people with power can get away with while the dispossessed take the blame. The film is in Cantonese with English subtitles and also stars award-winning Nina Paw, Liu Kai Chi, Patrick Tam and Justin Cheung. The movie is distributed by Golden Scene Co. Ltd., Hong Kong.
