Yee Chih-yen (b. 1959) graduated in the US and made his feature directorial debut in 1994 with Lovely Hearts Club.  In 2002, Yee achieved international attention when his youth film Blue Gate Crossing screened at the Directors' Fortnight sidebar at the Cannes Film Festival.  Yee is also a successful director of television and commercials.  Despite working regularly, Yee has directed only four features during his twenty-plus year film career.  His next projects include an animated feature, City of the Lost Things, and a film reunitingjthe stars of Blue Gate Crossing, Kwei Lun-mei and Chen Bo-lin.
