Buffy Chen Yan-fei received the Bright Star Award at Asian Pop-Up Cinema on April 12, 2025, at AMC NEWCITY 14 in Chicago, at the North American premiere of The Uniform (夜校女生). The film went on to win the festival's Audience Choice Award, tied with Yoshiyuki Kishi's Sunset Sunrise.

A Taiwanese actress, Chen broke through with her Golden Horse Award-winning debut in The Silent Forest. In The Uniform, she plays Ai, a high school student who enrolls in the night program of a prestigious school and forms an unlikely bond with a day-class peer.
