SYNOPSIS:

Set at the storied Huan Nan Market in the Monga Delta in 1991, three men and one woman became sworn as the “Four Young Brothers of Huan Nan.” But not everyone is who they seem in this tale of forbidden love across time. Featuring charismatic performances from its cast and nods to Taiwanese cinematic history, THE TIME OF HUAN NAN is a touching story of acceptance for audiences across generations.

Leading Lee, Director

Leading Lee is a Taiwanese writer, creative director, and filmmaker whose literary works are currently included in Taiwan’s national elementary school curriculum. Discovered by acclaimed producer Li-Kong Hsu (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), Lee transitioned into filmmaking, where his work reveals a distinctive narrative voice and visual aesthetic rooted in his literary foundation. He is a two-time Gold Award winner at the international Promax Awards for excellence in television branding and promotion, and a recipient of Taiwan’s Golden Bell Awards for both Best Drama Series and Best Channel Branding. In 2018, his debut feature BURNING COW was nominated for Best Narrative Feature at the 20th Taipei Film Awards.In 2020, he was commissioned to create THE TIME OF HUAN NAN, the first narrative feature in the history of Taiwan’s public art program—marking a pioneering integration of cinema and public space.
