When he learns that his estranged mother is suffering from dementia, drag queen Jia Hao returns home for the first time in years. But when his mother mistakes Jia Hao for her long-lost daughter, the charade ends up bringing them closer together.
Featuring brilliant performances, especially Richie Koh as a sassy drag queen who doesn’t hesitate to unleash his anger at the world, Ong Kuo-sin’s drama is a tender and queer-positive film full of love and heart. However, it also doesn’t hesitate to reveal trans- and homophobia in conservative Singapore society as the story delves into its protagonist’s painful past.
