After dying of dust pollution, Nat returns to her husband by possessing a vacuum cleaner, to the chagrin of her husband’s family. When other workers at her husband’s factory die from unsafe working conditions, Nat decides to prove herself useful by exorcising their displaced spirits.
The winner of the Grand Prix at Cannes Critics’ Week, Ratchapoom Boonbunchachoke’s surreal dark comedy is both a haunting drama about loss and memory, and a powerful indictment of classism and working-class oppression in Thai society. The brilliantly conceived genre-bender cleverly defies expectations and conventions with ample humor and suspense.
