Journalist Shu Meng-Lan takes her award-winning documentary series to the big screen. Filmed across 115 locations around the world over 15 years, Shu and her team have captured amazing footage of melting glaciers at the poles as well as the plight of helpless creatures living in those regions. Aiming to advocate for greater ecological awareness from a Taiwan perspective, the film is an important cautionary tale, reminding us that the fate of the polar regions is closely linked to our own.

June Scott, Intrepid Traveler
June Scott, intrepid traveler, has visited all 50 states, the 7 continents, and 106 countries. She is known as the Penguin Lady having visited the Antarctic three times and seen all 17 different species of penguins in their natural habitat. She has seen the magnificent Polar Bears of the north as well.  

To June, travel is more than the destination, it is a new way of looking at our amazing world, its people and animals. As she continues to explore and learn more about our wonderful world she has come to realize no matter where you travel from Africa to India, Iran to Jordon, Thailand to Turkey, human beings are more alike than different. We must all work together to preserve our incredible planet for future generations.                                


DIRECTOR BIO

Shu Meng-Lan
Shu Meng-Lan, a former news anchor turned producer and director, spent 15 years filming across seven continents. Through her lens, she reveals both the beauty and fragility of the natural world. Guardians of Our Planet is her first ecological feature film, and she is widely regarded as Taiwan’s voice for nature.
