When a solar flare causes a global blackout, all of Japan goes into total panic. Believing they stand a better chance of surviving outside the crippled metropolis, the Suzuki family take off to the countryside, only to realize their survival instincts will take a lot of honing.

Despite living in one of the most natural disasters-prone countries on earth, are the Japanese really prepared for disaster as they become increasingly reliant on modern technology? Acclaimed comedy filmmaker Shinobu Yaguchi brilliantly dissects that question through the eyes of an ordinary Japanese family with a disaster film that deftly blends comedy, drama and adventure.
